ABOUT US
Our story began with Kenyon Wood who was a farmer and Ag. teacher. Kenyon harvested his own crops and custom cut for family in North Texas with a 55 John Deere combine. He later upgraded to a 105 John Deere, through the years he relied on his two sons Brent and Lance to keep the farm running while he taught school.
At a young age, Brent knew that this was the line of work he wanted to be in. He started his trucking career in 8th grade when he bought a 1972 GMC bobtail, truck. He hauled hay and grain until in 1988, between his sophomore and junior year of high school, with the help of his Dad, he bought his first combine. The proud owner of a John Deere 6620, Brent's custom harvesting career began. During summers of high school and into his college career between semesters he went on the road with a fellow custom harvester. Starting wheat harvest in Dorchester, TX then working his way through Kansas, Colorado, and ending his wheat run in Kimball, Nebraska. Where he then turned back for milo harvest in Texas.
Shortly before his senior year of college he traded his 6620 for a 9500.After graduating from college, Brent started Wood Farms Harvesting and Trucking where he ran one to two combines depending on the wheat that year.
He kept his company smaller and more family oriented while he raised his kids on the road. In 2016, with the help of his son Tyler, the business grew and Brent decided to incorporate to Wood Agri. Services Inc.Today we are running 3 late model John Deere combines. Four semis, three Peterbilt's and one Kenworth that haul grain during the summer and fall months. They stay busy hauling liquid feed, fertilizer, and equipment over the winter months.
Hot summers in the fields and cool winters in the trucks, we love this lifestyle and what it has to offer.
